An artificial lake where you can enjoy beautiful scenery every season.

It is built by Kawachi Dam, built upstream of the Itabitsu River, and designated as Kitakyushu National Monument.

The “Minamikawachi Bridge” over the pond is the only existing steel bridge in Japan, built in an architectural style called Lenticular Truss.

The technology was highly appreciated, and in 2006 it was designated as a national important cultural property (building).
