Hibikinada Biotope, a facility established after marshes, ponds and grasslands formed from waste landfill, has become the habitat for endangered species of insects. Don’t miss your chance to take a photo in the bird-watching facility. The Hibikinada Wind Energy Center is located just outside of Biotope. Standing 65 meters tall and 75 meters in diameter with huge blades, the ten wind generators’ presence is overwhelming. The wind generators that produce electricity for approximately 10,000 households a year give an insight into the eco-projects that Kitakyushu has been working on.
