Former Osaka Shosen

Mojiko Retro area History and historic sites / See / Play

This building attracts attention with its octagonal spires and orange tiles. Built in 1931 as the Osaka Shosen Moji Branch Office, the retro building oozes the feel of yesteryear. The first floor houses the gallery of the Kitakyushu-born manga artist Watase Seizo, and the Mojiko Design House displays works of local artists, hand-made accessories and tableware and other everyday items that are only available here. Relax while taking in the scenery at the adjoining Café Matiere.
