Kitakyushu Literature Museum displays materials relating to literary figures connected with Kitakyushu, such as Mori Ogai, Hayashi Fumiko, Hino Ashihei, and Sugita Hisajo. In addition to a permanent gallery on literature in Kitakyushu from the Meiji period onward, the museum also stages many other exhibitions and events relating to literature.
