You can take the city ferry to enjoy a short trip to Ainoshima, an island located 35 minutes away from downtown Kokura. You will be welcomed to the tranquil island by a lot of cute cats. The vast dry beach with lots of reefs is definitely picturesque scenery. It is also a popular fishing spot.
