Kyushu's former tallest building boasting sophisticated designs

See, Play, Experience Mojiko Area

This building was constructed in 1937 for the Moji Branch of Mitsui & Co., Japan's first general trading company, and in 1953 began to be used as a facility of Japanese National Railways' Moji Railway Bureau.

The six-story ferroconcrete building was the tallest building in Kyushu when it was constructed. Currently under the management of Kitakyushu City, the building houses Kanmon-kaikyo Raibu-kan, a facility for disseminating information about the Kanmon Strait, and Omoide Station Moji, introducing documents, books and photos related to local communities, as well as a space open to the public, with a cafe, on the first floor.
